First off today marks our 47th month of our LID!! Happy Anniversary to us – one more month and we have 4 years in.
We left Bryan’s house pretty early this morning say 5:45am as he needed to head out for work at 6am. I have to add that before we left his area, we needed to locate yet another Wal-Mart, because Sam’s game once again stopped working and was unreadable after only an hour. This time we paid an additional $3.00 for a one year warranty. We want to thank Bryan and Robin so much for their great hospitality! So now we’re heading to the BIG APPLE!! New York if you don’t know what that is. But before we head there, we’re stopping in PA to see the Liberty Bell and a few other things. But before that we headed over to my nieces house because it’s so early in the morning to pick up my sandals that I left there a few weeks ago. My niece Jessica is due to have her 2nd baby like any day now and being that I still got to her Makayla inside her, I wanted a picture or two, maybe 3. Next time we see Jess, Makayla will be in her arms as we’re stopping by to see her on the way home next week.
our niece Jessica still with child! this is Ethan still in bed, its not even 8am yet.
So we arrived in Delaware around 9:14am, got to PA at 9:58am. During the cruise we got stuck in traffic, and Sam spotting a burning building, got a few pictures of it.
can you see the FLAMES?
We arrived on Market Street just around 10:41a and so we parked in a garage at US Constitution #3 on level 1 at the 5th Street intersection. This was just a stop to tour The Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. We got to witness the reading of the Declaration of Independence.
One beautiful Liberty Bell
Sam holding a copy of the Declaration
the reading of the Declaration..Todd video taped this part of it.
we were told at this very spot, the Declaration was read here 245 years ago on this very date July 8th, 1765
some of the pictures taken of Independence Hall
Now we’re heading to NY!! At one point we stopped for gas, and the guy who worked there came over and pumped our gas. Wow in my days and early years of life, that’s what they did, they had the attended pump your gas…I thought it was strange because that doesn’t happened anymore but I guess in NJ it does. We had no idea we were in NJ.
We ended up going through the NJ turn pike and what a trip that was till the end! I at this point I hated NJ the people drive like bats out of hell and are very nasty. Did I mention that I felt racism there? I used two words that never come out of my mouth. I won’t say what, but you maybe able to figure that one out for yourselves. We were in line waiting to pay our toll and then this big black lady starts yelling at someone about moving to the other lane. Did I mention that we were like the 3rd car from the pay booth with a cone to our right and no where to move when this bitch decides to turn off her green light and puts a BIG RED X, she had closed her lane on us. When after we were the 2nd car she now seems to be yelling at Todd saying move over, I’m not TAKING you and I DON”T CARE WHAT YOU HAVE! What the hell!! So that shit head of a woman which is a nicer word for me to us on my blog, but I know what I said out loud in my car, wouldn’t take us. Are you freaking kidding me? Turn your damn light off while we’re in her lane and tell us to move over with about a million cars of rude people who won’t let you over. I told Todd I think because we didn’t’ have a tag on the front of our car and we were white,
So anyway we made it to NY just after 6pm. And this is the first thing we saw after we arrived...Sam got the biggest kick as he's never seen anything like this in his life..
Macy's was behind us and the Empire State Building was in front of us!! Isn't that beautiful?
We continued to finish up eating and heading right over to the Empire State Building as we had tickets to go up. Here are a few pictures that I took standing on top of the world.
here are just a few of them....way too many to post!
We saw all kinds of stuff, but by the time we were done with our tour, our feet were killing us, Sam and I that is. We did walk down to see Time Square, but didn’t hang around, it was late and we needed to raise early for our tour to see the Statue of Liberty. We asked the front desk clerk for a wake up call. By the time we got to bed it was already after 10 and we needed to go down.
