Our Summer Vacation - Day 8

Today we took a tour or I should say long hike at Bushkill Falls. It’s just down the road from us on SR209. The eight water falls can be seen via a series of rustic bridges and trails over a 2-mile area. The Main Falls drop 100 feet and can be reached by a simple 10 – to 15 minute walk. We covered I believe the entire area – it started to rain, so we turned around, but then it stopped and we continued on Bridal Vale trail. I really wanted to see that. I believe we were on the trails over 2hrs and some of the trails were pretty darn steep. We got a very good work out during this hike…Sam did well, although he slipped at one point and hurt his foot, but he was a trooper got up and finished. It’s not like he had a choice, it’s the only way he could finish.

Afterwards, we came home to grab a bit to eat – Todd took a little nap after that. Then we headed out to Friendly’s for an ice cream treat. Then Todd decided as I had no clue we were taking yet another little trip those the Poconos. We went to Poconos Summit and after 25 years Todd found the place he and his parents would come to every weekend. His parents owned the home below. We also saw deer sitting in the yard next to his old child hood home…pretty cute ha?

I haven’t heard from my cousin Laurie yet and at this point, I’m not sure we will. The only days she would have to meet with us would be Mon/Tues or Wednesday. We did take cruise down to Scotrun where she lives, but our GPS couldn’t get us there. We ended up on a parking lot of the sheriff’s dept…it didn’t look like her house to me.

Afterwards we saw an outlet mall with all kinds of name brand places in it. We were going to visit it on Thursday, but we were already there. We stopped in a few places; we did pick up 2 t-shirts from Aeropostale for Sam.

Then it was off to finding some place to eat for dinner, so we stopped by a great pizza joint and had dinner – good pizza I may add. This is the place – I’m so glad I took the picture because I have forgotten what it was called.
