Our Summer Vacation - July 6th - July 18th

Day 1

Left the house at 1:50am and traveled up I75 to I4 then to I95 which is the shittiest road past Orlando. Roads were horrible, under construction full of bumps and pot holes. A few weeks ago, Sam and I did a trip to Maryland ourselves and went up I75 to I10 and then over, best way I think…but Todd’s doing the driving.

Early morning hours, Sam is just miserable, tissues stuck up his nose, allergies has the best of him, and he’s full of the sneezes .

We arrived in Georgia at 7:24am, update on there road conductions…suck, ½ the state is covered in those bright orange cones, as is construction.

Now we arrive in South Carolina at 9:11am, update on there roads, could use a face lift for sure, I think it has more bumps, and cracks along with broken or falling apart tires all over the sides of the road. Big broken down trees along 95 that should be cleared off, but there not in the way of travel, so that’s a good thing.

Funny thing happened, Todd loves sourdough pretzels so we emptied a bag in a sealed Tupperware container for longer freshness, did you know after one of our stops, we noticed the lid was off and just about the whole bag emptied out into our little black storage container that all of our snacks was sitting in. That’s worked out prefect, so when we finally pulled over again to take a bathroom break Todd put them back into the container, there were my new pair of crocs sitting on the bottom…oh well, we will now eat croc pretzels, nothing like a little dirt.

In the meantime I’m coming out of the ladies room, walked to the car and Sam couldn’t’ wait to tell me this. Todd needed to go so bad and I have you know my husband is a very gassy guy…oh yeah, Sam said he blew a major one out in the men’s room and Sam was a few doors down…a little boy said ewe and Sam said good one Dad, the other Dad laughed.

We’re just about South of the Border 11:53a woo hoo. Can’t wait Io get into North Carolina?

We now arrived in North Carolina at 12:11p, 3 hrs in SC. It appears we have set ourselves back some, which doesn’t make for a happy husband. My Mom promised Sam an Xbox for his birthday. I called her up to see if maybe she had picked it up and she said no, that she has time…time I said we’re be there Thursday passing through. She thought it was next week. So we decided to stop by a Wal-Mart we saw off the highway.

Oh my gosh was that ever a mistake!! You bet it was, we got there – it didn’t appear to be the cleanness Wal-Mart and all the people there was just as slow as can be, are you kidding me lets walk a little faster please! We picked Sam’s game up for him so that his Grandmother wouldn’t have to go out looking for it and she can gave us the money for it, as she suggested in the first place, ok that will work.

After we left Wal-Mart wouldn’t you know it, there had been an accident that fast. There was a guy lying in the street, it appeared that maybe he was walking and some idiot hit him. (hope he’s ok). And of course the lane we were in wasn’t moving anywhere and it wasn’t according to the police, ok would you please guide us out so that we can move on…of course NOT!! We sit for about 20 minutes and now Todd isn’t happy.

So, Sam soon thereafter gets the game he wants and is as happy as can be. We haven’t gotten too far away when Sam gets this message on his Xbox, game not readable, WHAT?...now I’m ticked. As I walked back towards Wal-mart and before we get back into the store, I noticed a cut mark on the front of the game case…no shit. It would appear that the person who unpacked the games used a box cutter to separate them and had cut the disk itself. Keep that in mind the next time you go buying a game, make sure there isn’t a cut on the case..I will always check now. We had to take the game back and this time we didn’t go out the way our GPS wanted us too..But now we’re back on the road after a 46 minute delay!! sigh!!!!

Virginia welcomes us at 3:42pm. During this trip I have had some burning pains, like chest going on, I know it’s heartburn that’s why I stopped drinking coffee a week ago. I have sense then decided to stop drinking soda and tea…so much for my Celebrity Apprentice I brought for the trip.

We took a small detour around Richmond and did 295, to 95 then 301 to avoid the mess I got myself into a month ago. We are currently 2hr and 41 mins away for our destination …but we still need to find a place to eat.

And then we finally made it to Bryan's and Robin's house.
